Wiccan Church Seeks to Purchase Property for Interfaith Temple

October 26, 2019 Press Release

Inner Ascended Masters Ministries was founded by Aaron Ayres in 2014 to provide a spiritual home for those without. For over five years now, its 7-acre property at 5705 S. Washington Avenue has provided a physical home for the Pagans In Need food pantry as well as meeting space for Christian spiritualists, Druids, Wiccans, and more. The space has become a haven to those who have no other religious home in the area, hosting public worship services, drum circles, and healing events every week. The Director of Pagans in Need, Bill Ehle, says, "By having a more accessible space, we've been able to increase the amount of clients we can serve throughout the year."

As Mr. Ayres leaves the area to move on to other things, Weavers of the Web, an affiliate of the Aquarian Tabernacle Church (ATC), is seeking to step up and purchase the property so that it can remain a spiritual home to the greater Lansing community. Weavers of the Web was founded in 2018 by Rev. Elayne Glantzberg. Part of their mission, and that of the ATC, is to ensure that no-one ever need be alone in their spiritual needs. Weavers has been meeting at the current property since their inception, and has worked to build and maintain outdoor worship space. They have conducted joint celebrations with the local druid grove, as well as participated in fundraising events to support community outreach and education. Rev. Glantzberg hopes to add to their services over the coming months, with plans to offer support groups for addiction recovery and LGBTQ+, a Spiral Scouts (a co-ed nature-based interfaith scouting group founded by the ATC) circle, and much more.

However, all of these plans now hinge on the ability to purchase the physical property. Weavers is looking to raise at least $22,000 for a down payment as soon as possible. In order to do this, they are reaching out to the community. Their first fundraising event is on Halloween night, with a family-friendly party from 4-10pm for all ages, including Halloween movies, warm snacks, trick-or-treating, and more. Further events are being planned, including psychic fairs and activities for the upcoming holidays.

Weavers of the Web, ATC, is a public Wiccan church in the WISE tradition, committed to providing community support and open worship opportunities for all. For more information, visit www.facebook.com/weaversatc, or contact Rev. Glantzberg at 517-657-5800.
