June 26 @ 12:00 pm - 9:00 pm EDT$5 – $50
As of 1:15pm, the National Weather Service just issued a tornado watch for Ingham County until this evening. Given the current severity of the storms, their projected path, and the potential for severe weather during ritual time, we are moving to the store/church building for our Litha ritual. You can find it on the map systems under either Keys To Manifestation or Weavers of the Web. The address is 809 Center Street, Lansing 48906.
We will open the doors at 4pm, and ritual will still be at 5. Everybody is welcome to join us either in person or online; we would appreciate proof of vaccination for in-person attendees since we’re moving indoors.
Because of the change in venue and limited space at the store, the raffle is being postponed until Lammas.
We know this is a disappointment, but beg your understanding. We are trying to keep everybody safe. Hopefully the weather will be more favorable at Lammas.
SEVERE WEATHER UPDATE: We will be canceling today’s event IF a severe weather alert is issued or if winds exceed 20 mph. As long as it stays dry or it’s just raining, we will be there. Please be careful and plan for getting wet!
Celebrate the longest day of the year with Weavers of the Web at an all-day picnic party for Summer Solstice 2021! We will be at the Fenner Center scout campground from noon until 9pm this year, with ritual at 5pm and raffle to follow at 7pm. Bring your favorite summertime outdoor games and entertainment, along with food and beverages for your family, and enjoy the afternoon in the beautiful Fenner woods. There is plenty of room for picnic blankets and chairs and running children in the grassy fields. Ball games, tossing games, and board games are all welcome. Please make sure to bring your own seating, blankets, sunscreen, bug spray, and whatever food and drink you will need throughout the day. Visit Ampersand Bakery for some delicious treats you can order ahead and bring with you!
Our wonderful Fundraising Coordinator has amassed an amazing collection of items donated by businesses through the Lansing area. Raffle tickets are $1 each and can be purchased by cash or card on-site. From artwork to household goods, from the magickal to the mundane, there’s going to be something for everybody at our Litha raffle this year. All proceeds from the Raffle will go to benefit our Temple Project. Get your tickets and get some loot!
At 5pm, we will hold our Litha ritual and bonfire, as we honor the tipping point and transformation of this time of year. Our ritual will also be available by Zoom, YouTube livestream, and Patreon, as usual, so everybody can enjoy the ritual in whichever manner calls to them best. (Click on the links above for online access.) Celebrate the height of the sun with drumming and chant, then make your lavender wishes as we turn our faces to the coming autumn. As a friendly reminder, all observers of WISE-tradition rituals must be participants within the circle, and all are welcome.
We do offer free Rites of Passage every year during our Litha ritual. Whether you have a new baby, a teen ready to be recognized as a young adult, or a freshly empty nest, contact High Priestess Solinox Silverstar as soon as possible if you would like to have your own Rite of Passage performed during Litha 2021.
For those of you who are planning to attend online, you’ll want to have your own lavender wish ready, as well as cakes and ale (food and drink that involve strawberries, lavender, and other seasonal items are excellent choices). Setting up your ritual space at home with incense, candles, and your regular altar supplies will help enhance your experience. Unfortunately, due to the lack of power at our current ritual site, we will only be able to provide online access to the ritual itself.
Attendance to our sabbat rituals is always free! If you purchase a sponsorship ticket from our website, your donation will go toward purchasing ritual supplies. This will allow us more flexibility to use deity statues, decorations, props, and gifts, as well as covering our cakes and ale and other supplies, helping to enhance the ritual experience for everybody. Please note that this is optional; you do not need a ticket to attend the ritual!
Circle cast will be promptly at 5pm.
The Fenner Center scout campground is accessed via a hard-to-see driveway on Mount Hope just east of the main entrance; we will have signs at the street. You can park just inside the gate and hike down to the site, or you are welcome to park with care in the field. Please arrive dressed and equipped appropriately for the weather; we cannot guarantee socially-distanced shelter in the event of rain. Fresh water and a pit toilet are available on site. The ground onsite is grass that is thick and mowed with some uneven terrain. Limited benches are available; we recommend bringing your own chairs if you expect to need seating.
