A funny thing happened coming out of Parliament of World Religions in Chicago this August. Pagans took firm stances on their autonomy in their preferred spirituality and chosen paths. This led to debate on which Pagan symbols they would allow on an all inclusive Pagan banner. Could we be inclusive as our numbers grow? This struck some of us, who are considered elders, as in our contributions that have paved the way for younger generations being ignored. This struck the younger pagans as some of the elders demonstrating a false sense of privilege. We will examine the history of modern Paganism, Tik Tok pagans, initiatory groups, and the transformation of occult shops into community centers vs. traditional churches. The panel will include diverse age group of pagans in different stages of their “careers.”
